Hello! My name is Hannah Geiger. I am from a small town in upstate New York called Vestal. I come from a family of entrepreneurs and programmers and have been surrounded by innovation and technology my entire life. When I was a child, I was very shy - to the point that I was almost held back in kindergarten because my teachers could not tell if I was learning as I would not talk. It took me until around middle school when I broke out of my shell and the story goes "she has not stopped talking since"! Once I found my voice (literally and figuratively), I realized I loved to be a leader. I took any and every opportunity I could to get in front of people to talk and share my ideas, even if they thought I was crazy. I ran for class president in eighth grade and auditioned for every solo in choir. In high school, I was active in select choir (Vestal Voices) and public speaking and I had big dreams to one day move to a big city, and eventually write a book. One thing to note about my early life is that I was always worried that I had no idea what I wanted to do when I grew up. I watched my peers passionately decide on becoming lawyers or doctors, but nothing really spoke to me. All I knew was that I had a lot of passion for doing something big.

Days after my high school graduation, I got a job at my local TJ Maxx where I was able to hone my leadership skills even further, after being promoted to Customer Experience Coordinator a year after starting as a Merchandise Associate. I attended Broome Community College from 2017 to 2019 where I built my base business knowledge on economics and marketing. I also learned some basic Excel skills and Business Law. Broome is where I learned that I am completely fascinated with consumer behavior. I knew I wanted to transfer to Binghamton University as it is rated highly as an undergraduate Business school (today, BU ranks at #27 for Poets&Quants 2022 Best Undergraduate Business Schools) and I planned on studying marketing and economics. I graduated Broome Community College in 2019 with a 3.9 GPA and an acceptance letter into my dream university.


When I attended Binghamton University in the fall of 2019, I was shocked by the number of concentrations I could study and the opportunities the school offered. I immediately became active on campus by applying to the Emerging Leaders Program, where I was placed with a team of like-minded students to create a service-learning project throughout the semester. I was also tasked in my coursework at the end of my first semester to participate in a Live Case Competition hosted by Mazda USA, where my team presented to Mazda executives as one of seven teams out of one hundred and placed first for our creative marketing campaign. I also became a founding member of the Binghamton University Business Fashion Society as the Vice President of Fundraising (you can learn more about these accomplishments on my Projects page).


By my second semester, I had become more fascinated with the technology side of business and declared my majors in Marketing and Management Information Systems. In my final semesters, I dedicated my coursework to classes that aligned with my interests, which included two MBA level courses. I was adamant about ensuring that my time in university was spent learning as much as I could rather than just completing the bare minimum requirements to graduate. During my last semester, I became more interested in Data during my Data Driven Marketing course, when I realized the amount of insights data provided. I enjoyed the concreteness of data in my passion for consumer psychology.

Today, I am looking for a position that helps me use data to draw insights and tell a story that will make a brand more than just a brand for consumers. I want to make a difference and connect with consumers by creating a brand experience that I can be proud of influencing. The one thing I have been passionate about since I found my voice is sharing a story with others, and I hope to work with a company that has the same vision.
